Don't stress..

With Christmas just ten days away, it's hard not to stress out! I'm happy to report that my list is 90% done, woo hoo! Here are some tips to help you get through the madness of holiday shopping.

1. Start early - It's never too early to start shopping for the holidays; set aside a space in you closet, attic, garage, etc. so when you find something that your family will love you can stash it there until you are ready to swap gifts.

2. Shop online - Shopping online can be fun, it's easy and quick; the best part is that you get to avoid all the madness in the stores. You can even have the gifts wrapped (for a small fee and it's a time saver); make sure you allow enough time for shipping.

3. Make a budget and stick to it - It's easy to over spend during the holidays; if you are afraid you will over spend, make a budget and stick to it! You can make a list to get a general idea of how much you will be spending, another way to better budget your spending. You may also want to cut down the number of presents per person; instead of buying three or four, just buy two for each person on your list.

4. Don't shop during the weekend - Try not to go shopping on Friday, Saturday or Sunday they are the busiest days for retailers. If you can go shopping Monday - Thursday; less people, fewer lines means less stress. Early to mid week also happens to be when retailers receive new merchandise, not only will you avoid all the foot traffic but you may also be the first to get your hands on the item of the week!

5. Time out! - If you are feeling stressed take a break, listen to your favorite song, go out for some fresh air or a quick walk. Taking a break will help you clear your mind and feel relaxed.

Don't forget that the holidays are about spending time with your loved ones; so hurry back from the mall and spend time with the family. Its the best present you can give them and it's absolutely free! :-)
